The service

Drywall Repair for Front Range conditions

Every home collects drywall wounds: the doorknob hole, the settling crack over the window, ceiling stains from that gutter overflow, nail pops marching down a hallway. Individually small, collectively they age a house — and painting over them without real repair just puts a fresh coat on the problem.

We fix it properly: cut back to sound board, address the cause where there is one (a stained ceiling gets a moisture check before mud, every time), patch with backing that won't flex, tape with setting compound, and rebuild your texture — knockdown, orange peel, or smooth — until the repair vanishes. Most visits wrap in hours, with dust control and cleanup that respects the fact that people live here.

Colorado note

Why Front Range walls crack

Expansive clay soils and big seasonal humidity swings make Colorado homes flex more than framing textbooks admit. Diagonal cracks off door and window corners are usually seasonal movement, not structural alarm — and the fix is taping with the right compound so they stay closed, not caulk that reopens by spring. When a crack pattern does look structural, we'll say so and point you to the right specialist.

Good questions

Questions homeowners ask

Can you really make the patch invisible?

That's the standard we work to. The secret is texture: a flat patch on a textured wall shouts. We rebuild knockdown, orange peel, or smooth finishes to blend with the surrounding surface, then feather primer so paint takes evenly. If you can find the patch afterward, we haven't finished.

There's a water stain on my ceiling — can you just paint it?

Please don't — and we won't. Stains mean moisture got in, and painting over wet or compromised board seals in a mold risk. We verify the source is fixed, check moisture content, cut back anything unsound, and then rebuild. It's a slightly longer path to a much better answer.

What causes nail pops and are they serious?

Lumber drying and seasonal movement push fasteners proud of the surface — very common in Colorado's dry climate and rarely structural. The correct repair adds a screw beside each pop, resets the original fastener, and refinishes. Pushing them back and painting is a six-month fix.

Do you paint after the repair?

We can. Every repair leaves paint-ready; if you'd like, we prime and paint to a corner-to-corner finish so sheen matches and there's no touch-up halo. It's the difference between 'repaired' and 'never happened.'
